Scottish Music

KT Tunstall
Kate Victoria Tunstall (better known as KT Tunstall) was born in 1975 in Scotland. She is a singer and a guitarist. She got known by her famous song “Black horse and the Cherry Tree”.
Kate was born in Scotland with a half-Scottish and half-Chinese mother, and an Irish father, but she was adopted after 18 days. She tells she’s never seen her biological father. She grew up in St. Andrews, Scotland. But after some years, she went to the secondary school in Kent. In the school she learned to play the guitar, the flute and the piano.
In her twenties, she played in “indie” bands. Indie is a music style. Then, she started to develop her own music.
She recorded her most important album, “Eye to the Telescope”. Her music is a mixture of folk and pop. The best well-known songs are her famous “Black horse and the Cherry Tree” and “Suddenly I see”.

Travis
This Scottish music group appeared in 1996. The group is formed by four guys: Fran Hearly –He sings and writes the songs -, Andy Dunlop –he plays the guitar- Dougie Payne –plays the electric bass- and Neil Primrose –plays the drums-. The group has been tagged in many ways: as a rock group, or as a kind of odd “pop-bugs”.
Three of the Travis members studied together in an Art School, and Fran Healy was the first who realized that his passion was music (because he wrote more songs than he painted pictures). He left the school, and he got to know Neil, who served beers in Glasgow. They decided to form a group all together.
Some good songs of Travis are “Hit me baby one more Time” and “Sing”.
